 Ankle ligament reconstruction and Arthroscopy

The journey that led me to meet Mr Abbasian in the first place was quite a difficult one. I broke my ankle back in January 2016. At the time, my local hospital told me it was a very simple avulsion fracture and I would be back running again in 12 weeks. 6 months later, I was still struggling with severe pain each time I weight-beared on that ankle and didn’t really understand why, so went back to see the consultant who ran an MRI. The results came back and I was told it showed nothing of note and there was nothing more they could do for me, except when the clinic letter came through, the report showed a talar fracture but I was unable to contact the consultant for further information about this second and unknown fracture.

Keen to get some answers due to still being in a lot of pain, I went to see Mr Abbasian at the Shard in November. He reviewed the scans, did a full assessment of the ankle and explained to me in detail exactly what had happened. 2 months later, I underwent surgery to complete a lateral ligament reconstruction with arthroscopy. The surgery was 11 weeks ago today, and I am now virtually pain-free for the first time in 13 months. I have full range of movement and good strength back and have been back in the gym regularly. I can’t thank Mr Abbasian enough for what he has done for me, he was the first consultant I met that actually took the time to review my case and explain exactly what was happening and then went on to do a wonderful job in the surgery. Not just that, but he was incredibly personable throughout the whole process. I would highly recommend Mr Abbasian to anyone without hesitation.

Mr Abbasian – thank you so much for getting me back on track, I appreciate everything you have done for me throughout what was a pretty frustrating process! Also thanks to London Sports Ortho for a smooth, seamless and friendly process from start to finish. You’re all absolutely wonderful!
