Well I promised a photo and here it is!!! 9 years post-op after my partial knee replacement surgery – at the top of Mount Kilimanjaro. 

We are safely back down, and I can honestly say not even a twinge! I took two knee braces in case, but they didn’t come out of my bag. I wasn’t too worried about the ascent from a knee point of view, but everyone had told me the descent is brutal ! After a 7-hour ascent, a 6-hour descent, so total 13 hours walking. Then, the next day 5 hours / 20km down on the roughest ground I have possibly ever seen. One of our group, without prior knee issues, was ‘rescued’ by car. 

All I can say is a big thank you!!
