2019 marks the end of an era for HCA, with the announcement of the retirement of Mr Mike Neeb, the President of HCA UK.
Mike has led HCA for over 20 years, and his passion and vision has created what is now the UK’s top private hospital group. HCA’s hospitals have been voted by private patients as the best private hospital’s in the whole of the UK, and absolutely deservedly so. Under Mike’s guidance the HCA team have focussed relentlessly on quality, avoiding joining the ‘race to the bottom’ that we are witnessing with so many other hospital groups.
Mike will be heading back to the U.S. but he has promised to keep closely in touch with all his friends here in the UK, and we wish Mike the very best for a busy, happy, healthy and fulfilling retirement!

Whilst being sad about Mike’s departure, at the same time we’re delighted with the appointment of Mr John Reay as Mike’s successor. John Reay was the CEO of London Bridge Hospital, and under his great leadership the hospital rose from relative obscurity 20 years ago to now being the very best private hospital in the UK! John Reay has been a supportive and guiding force for London Sports Orthopaedics, and he was instrumental in LSO’s inception in The City at 31 Old Broad Street and in our evolution into one of the UK’s leading private orthopaedic group practices, with one of the very best set-ups in the whole of the UK. We’re delighted that John will be taking over the mantle of now running the whole of HCA UK, and this is great news for LSO and for all our future patients!
