Mr Ian McDermott’s patient 71 year-old Margaret Baker was featured in the Sunday Mirror on 7th November, in the operation case study column “Your op”.
Mary said “In May I became the first person in Britain to get a new type knee replacement.
After years of limping with arthritis I had a prosthetic right knee called ConforMISiTotal-PS, fitted by Mr Ian McDermott at London Bridge Hospital.
The knee is the most advanced in the world and is designed using 3D printing based on CT scans of my original joint.
I was back up on my feet (with crutches) shopping at M&S the day after surgery. Amazing.”
Mary is a retired hairdresser and ski instructor from Sevenoaks in Kent.
